Anything eaten over and above what the body needs becomes a burdon to the body. This accelerates aging and contributes to sickness and disease. For every percentage point less food we eat, we typically extend our lives by the same percentage point (that is if it is started at a young age). Numerous differant studies in differant specifies all conclude the same.

Outstanding. Once again, Meridith and Paul demonstrate their leadership by taking CR out of just the scientific literature and putting into plain english with concrete ways to make it happen in our lives. I can't thank you both enough.

Paul, do you and Meridith have an opinion about using supplements such as cinnamon or bitter melon juice to help keep glucose levels low? Thanks.

Cinnamon has little effect on glucose levels. I have not tried bitter melon so I can't comment on that. It is much better to rely on the tease meal method we wrote about in the CR Way. That helps activate insulin naturally so it can dispose of circulating glucose efficiently when the rest of your meal follows.

Have any studies been conducted on individuals following CRON and also juice-fasting three days every two to three weeks? I've read about the benefits of juice-fasting and I'm certainly convinced of the biological benefits of CRON, but I haven't found studies which combine the two. My guess would be that the periodic fasting might extend lifespan even more.
